Monday 31st March – skiing ***** very sunny:)

We didn’t wake up until 8 and were up on the first lift at 9!!! It is Margeriaz’s last week of the season so we got a real bargain – a whole day for 11 euros!! What a cracking day on their lovely long runs – virtually on our own – apart from the army who were there walking up the piste and skiing down the off-piste – twice! :) It is a beautiful day so we stayed on the lower slopes first before they went cakey in the sun and saved the higher slopes for later. We even stopped for a coffee and hot chocolate at the restaurant!! We never do that so a real treat sitting out in the sun on the easy chairs – watching a whole family meeting up – Granddad was there first followed by his daughter who sat chatting and dozing for a while before being joined by the son in law and grandson for lunch – skiing really can be enjoyed by all generations!:) A few more runs and we headed up to the very top to eat our picnic right on the ridge overlooking the Savoie Grand Revard where we were yesterday and we could see the valley road right to the end. Then there is the view of Mont Blanc and all the other peaks the other side – wonderful:) We stayed up there sharing our lunch with the alpine choughs and reading our books for over an hour before going down the Black run which is actually closed but was really nice – we think it is more a red than a black really. The snow was now really sticky and we decided to call it a day at 4 o’clock and came down the lovely blue run back to the village by staying to the sides of the piste which still had the piste basher marks – even at the end of the day! The place is virtually deserted. What a great find this place has been – it has been just as good on both our visits this trip.
